Hi,
First step I load the hex file into the Flash of the dev kit pro to start the standard hex from there.
after success load with the tool Smart snip... I change the jumper to boot from FLASH.
I saw nothing on the device manager any com port.
So I thought something was wrong.
then I change the jumper back but then i see only a USB Hub without driver.
1. How can i reset the board to see the J-link again?
2. How can i use the FLASH with the example sps_host.hex and get the data to a serial port?
I dont think that I can link that to the fdti chip? So do I have the UART external, or how can I modifiy the Board to use the example ?

Hi CM-HY,
Configure your device jumpers in SPI Flash configuration and use the JTAG interface to download code into the flash, remember to erase it first and to make it bootable. If you change the configuration to SPI you are going to be able to see the all the COM ports, the board doesn't need a reset. You can download the DSPS with the procedure i described above into your SPI flash and to run the application after heating the reset button. You can check the DSPS User Manual in how to configure the pro kit to run the DSPS example.
Thanks MT_dialog
Thanks For your fast answer.
So now flashed the device sps_device file to the external flash on the Board. I got a positive response form you tool.
I see 2 com ports on my PC. I opend both with tera term.
On the other BT side I used the USB stick, wrote the host *hex in the ram and run the programm. I opend also an other com port.
1. Using the DSPS App on My Ipad no device can be found durign the searching several times.
2. no connection also with my host USB Stick is possible. the device is not found. I didn't change anything on the hex file. just using the unchanged version.
3.看来,该模块不引导from the SPI Flash.
我添加的图片在跳线设置Programming of the flash and trying the communication.
Could you please check if the jumpers are right?
thanks in advance
Claus
Hi CM-HY,
You must add an extra jumper for the chip select, place the jumper in p0_3 port.
Thanks MT_dialog
Hi,
let me explain my way mabe I did somthing wrong, because I see not results:
1. Set the UART Jumper to Flash the external memory. have got 2 COM ports on device manager
2. I got positives results shown in SSnipet. loaded the device hex file
3.set the Jumper to SPI.
4. disconnect the board
5. using the USB variant with the PAN1740 and write the host hex file into the RAM
6. take the Board plug in the usb connection.
7. after a while (some seconds) I see the 2 Com again.
8. I open for the USB stick the COM ports(115200)
9. I open for the board both COM ports (115200) to find out where is da data interface.
10. no data could be transfered.
So what did I wrong..?
I never seen such a bad instruction guide. If the simplest function will not be explained, How can I show this by our customer...

After checking the Board pins I can see that they are using UART and SPI as shared pins so there is no posibility to test the DSPS example via the board in combination with the external FLASH. without changing the source code, I have to mapped the UART to an other Pinout...
Its interessing that this anwer does not came from Dialog....
Cheers
Hi CM-HY,
Sorry about that but i am not sure on which doc you are reffering to, in the UM-B-038 Serial Port Service reference application there is an extensive explanation on how to setup a demo. About the burning to the spi flash procedure its common for all projects. Just set your pro-board to SPI configuration and yes you have to change the configuration of the pins if you want both SPI and UART. Please check the following post:

Hi, MT_dialog,
thanks for this forum post. its describes exact this part of information I am missing in the Documentaton of UM-B34.
It is not really confortable to jum from one document to each others.
Now it Runs.
Anyway thanks for your Infromation and help.
Hi CM-HY,
Glad it helped you.
