Haptic - Actuator Frequency decoding

Hi,

Could you help me to understand what is the meaning of Resonant tracking of the haptic driver?
I intend to use the haptics driver to do the decoding or check the frequency of the LRA/ERM actuator.

Is the haptics driver capable to do it? if yes, please advise how?
Thanks!

Hello eng-k,

Hello eng-k,

The DA7280 haptic family can track resonant frequency, this achieved through register settings in the DA7280 set-up script.

Driving an LRAs resonant frequency, allows for the maximum possible output acceleration, breaking capability and efficiency. However, the properties of the LRA may change over time (e.g internal spring characteristics change), temperature and there can be manufacturing difference between the LRAs in the same batch. So, we track the resonant frequency as it drifts to allow for the benefits listed and also for a consistent haptic response.

Kind regards,

Elliott
