In creating my first real application, I needed to use the on-chip crystal oscillator.
我们没有been able to get the advanced dev system working yet, so I am using the DIP development board.
Parasitic loading from the DIP development board prevents the oscillator from running, so we cut off pins 16 and 17 on the OTP DIP board, so that the oscillator can run.
Cutting off those pins prevents the OTP from being programmed.
This is likely not a "bug" so much as "this is how it is", so I'm noting it for other users to be aware of.
Our workaround will be to program the OTP and then cut pins 16 and 17, and finally build the oscillator circuit on the DIP board.
