如何加载the firmware code with SUOTA into flash?

Hi Dialog,

I am using suota_initial_flash_jtag_win of SmartSnippets Studio to load code in flash. Now I want to replace the jtag by serial port for loading the code with SUOTA function, but I do not find
this option in SmartSnippets Studio. how to do this through serial port? furthermore, does the production tool support this way to load the code with suota function?

thanks for your help.

Hi nigelyang,

Hi nigelyang,

Regarding the SUOTA functionality on DA14680 chip, only the suota_initial_flash_jtag_win of SmartSnippets Studio is supported. So the only way to burn the SPI flash with the SUOTA application is through JTAG interface. Regarding your second question about the PLT, you are not able to burn the SPI flash with a SUOTA functionality using UART. The only way is use the JTAG interface.

Thanks, PM_Dialog

if I want to burn code (with suota functionality) in flash, what's production tool do you suggest to use in mass production stage? Dialog's PLT seems to use DUT (uart) to load code in flash, but no jtag interface to use?! Do you know what way do Dialog's customers often use to load code in flash if their code with suota functionality?

thanks for your answer.

Hi nigelyang,

Hi nigelyang,

Sorry for the confusion, the PLT uses UART and no JTAG, so you are able to program the SPI flash with a code with SUOTA functionality using UART. Using the Smart Snippet you are not able to replace the jtag by serial port for loading the code with SUOTA functionality. For mass production, we highly recommend the PLT as you mentioned. Please, check the UM-B-040 and UM-B-041 user manuals from our support page for getting further information about the PLT.

Thanks, PM_Dialog
