Questions related to DA 14531

I am new to DA14531. I have a custom board with DA 14531. I am using SDK 6.0.12.1020.2.

I have seen in every example following functions

1. init_retention_mode();
2. GPIO_init();

I have the following questions related to DA14531 and SDK 6.0.12.1020.2

1.Does RAM retention & GPIO_init() is necessary in every example?
2. What should I make changes in code for OTP programming?
3. For reading BD address from the chip at the time of OTP What should I make changes in code?
