I am new to this device so please bear with me. I have a DA14531 Module Development Kit-Pro and I am trying to follow along with the tutorial:
http://lpccs-docs.dialog-semiconductor.com/DA145xx_Advertising_Tutorial/results.html
Everything works up to section 4.2, Initializing the SmartSnippets Toolbox. Figure 13 suggests checking the UART/SPI radio button but it is grayed out in my case. The only interface allowed is JTAG. Is there a jumper configuration that I need to change to get the Power Profiler to operate?
Also, on a more general note, the documentation for the development kit main board covers a multitude of targets. Is there a document that is more specifically aimed at the DA14531MOD when connectted to the 376-18-B main board?
Thanks,
Jim
Hi Jim,
Thanks for posting your question on our public forum and for your interest in our TINY module solution.
Can you please share a photo with your HW setup and a screenshot from the SmartSnippets Toolbox?
You should connect over UART/SPI (as described in the tutorial) in order to activate the PowerProfiler.
In the TINY module product page, you could find all the available documentation for the module specifically.
I would recommend first checking out the following documents :
http://lpccs-docs.dialog-semiconductor.com/UM-B-139-Getting-Started-with-DA14531-TINY-Module/index.html

Thank you for your reply. The document below has a picture of my HW setup and the SmartSnippets setup screen. There is no ability to select UART/SPI as no serial ports are listed. The virtual com ports show up as COM38 and COM39 in Windows device manager and also under the "UART only" radio button.
Hi Jim,
I am using the same jumper configuration as shown in Figure 6 The DA14531 module connected to the DA14531 mother Board (from Getting Started document)
As you can see, I am able to connect over UART/SPI (see attached)
你能试一试to re-install the SS Toolbox?
Is the module programmed with any firmware running?
Thanks, PM_Dialog
Thank you. I am completely mystified! I installed SS Toolbox on my laptop and it works correctly. I have uninstalled SST Toolbox from my desktop workstation and installed a freshly downloaded copy (Toolbox v5.0.14.3080) and have the excact same problem as I originally posted. I need to do my development work on the computer that I am having trouble with. Can you suggest some troubleshooting steps to determine what SS T is looking for in order for it to allow the SPI/UART selection?
Thanks!
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the update. Did you try it in another COM port or with any other cable? Can you please share a screenshot for the Windows Device Manager? What is the OS that you are using?
Thanks, PM_Dialog
Thank you for your continued responses. I am running 64-bit Windows 7. Yes, I have tried different USB ports, I have changed the COM port numbers inside device manager, and I have changed USB cables. I updated my FTDI driver, as you can see from the attached screen shot of devmgmt.msc. The COM ports show up in SmartSnippets Tool Box if I select "UART Only" so the SSTB program knows the com ports are there.

Hi Jim,
Apologies for my late response. Are you able to connect over UART in your desktop? Still I am not able to replicate it.
Thanks, PM_Dialog
