I am trying to use an FTDI USB to TTL Serial cable to download code to a DA14580 based device but the USB device is not recognized by the SmartSnippets tool. On the same laptop SmartSnippets is able to see the UART PORT / SPI PORT pair when connected to the DA14580 Development Kit Mainboad and download code, so I don't think this is a driver issue. Is there an explanation for this?
(I wondered if SmartSnippets might be looking for the FTDI dual serial port chip rather than the single serial port chip in the FTDI USB serial cables.)
Fortunately I can download code via the debugger for testing, but I think I won't be able to program the OTP without a serial interface, so I am going to become blocked at some point soon.

FTDI USB Serial Cable for UART Booter
Hi RobAtGWA,
Sorry, but SmartSnippets is only working with the FTDI dual serial port chip on the mother-board.
We are working on a more universal version, but it will take a while.
One way could be that you wire your board through the MB J1 connector pins for UART, and eventually the supply and the Reset.
Best regards, Dialog Support.
Is this FTDI limitation also apply to the separate programmer, "OTP_Programmer_V_1.6"?
Can you specify which FTDI cable can be used with smart snipplet as i plan to direct build custom board with UART RX/TX communication for programing purpose. The UART TTL signal is using 5V or 3.3V?
Hi Iikcharlie85,
we always use FTDI cable TTL-232R-3V3.
5 v型nnot be used.
=> USB cable with 6 way 0.1" pitch single inline connector with +3.3V signalling.
But the wire ended type can be used as well of course.
