Hello,
We're planning to connect 2 or 3 IOT sensors (DA14583) with a mobile phone.
We found out that with BT v4.2 things are made easier for simultaneous connection of BT sensors.
I also read your article herehttp://support.dialog-semiconductor.com/da1458x-qualified-42
So we've found a phone (LG K8 - i'm not sure if i'm allowed to tell the brand here) that has:
- Bluetooth v4.2, A2DP (doesn't say LE anywhere)
ipv6
so..
1) Is it fully COMPATIBLE with smartbond IOT sensors and the android app? (we're only buying it to work with your sensors)
2) Where can i find an android app that can communicate with more than 1 sensor at the same time (i've asked this again in a forum but topic is locked now..)
3) Can we do the same thing with an ipad we already have but has BLE v4.0 ? (afraid not)
Big thanx!
Aris
Hi Jyro_gr,
1) From what i can tell, since its has 4.2 Bluetooth it should includes BLE functionality, regarding the IoT android application it has more to do with the android version than the phone itself, as far as i know at least at the moment we dont have any compatibility issues with the android app.
2) I am not aware of any android application that can connect with multiple slaves, the proximity monitor application has this ability but its not compatible with the IoT sensor, i mean probably you could connect with it but the supported profiles is the proximity profile, so you can just stay connected, but you are not going to be able to exchange data or do any other functionality if you use the application as is.
3) The BLE 4.0 specification states that a central can support multiple connections with devices in the peripheral role, theoretically this should be supported from your iPad, if the BLE chipset that is using supports this kind of operation, the number of concurrent connections differs in each device.
