Unable to load firmware to flash

Hi there,

I use DA14695 ProDev kit + DA14695 daughterboard + SDK10.0.8.105.

Today I faced with strange problem. I erased some data in flash (MX25U323F), but after that I can`t load any firmware to it.

I just tried to erase my custom partition withToolbox 5.12, but not select size of block to erase. I assume that some of next mandatory partitions was erased too. This partitions was NVMS_PARAM and partition table.

Can it be reason for that problem?
How can I fix it? Why I can`t load firmware in flash?

由于先进nce!

Hi There,

Hi There,

Not sure what could be the issue - I would suggest to erase the whole QSPI from the SmartSnippets Studio by executing the appropriate scripts erase_qspi_serial or earse_qspsi_jtag. After that try to re-program it by excecuting either program_qspi_serial or program_qspsi_jtag.

Thanks for the reply PM

Thanks for the reply PM_Dialog.

No, it still not works.
I replaced memory chip - all seems to be fine. I can work with the daughter board as usually.
If I solder previous memory chip to another daughterboard (previously it works fine), I see only GDB server error "connect to target failed" (Debug/Release RAM configurations not works too).

So, what is wrong with that memory chip? There is a bug in Toolbox? Why general operations with flash and toolbox issues to that condition of memory chip?

Hi There,

Hi There,

You mentioned that you are using our DA1469x DKs. Are you using the default onboard flash or you have replaced another one? Can you please clarify it?

Did you replace the MX25U3235 with another same flash?

Yes I did. I just swap flash

Yes I did. I just swap flash chips (MX25U3235 ) between two daughterboards. One of them works fine, another one broken (perhaps problems with flash).

Hi There,

Hi There,

In case of the “damaged” flash, would it be possible to probe the QSPI lines while trying to program it? Probably is flash-related problem. Is that flash working in another board?

Thanks, PM_Dialog

Hi Support,

Hi Support,

Yes, it is flash-related problem. That chip not works on another daughterboard. I have couple memory-chips with the same symptoms.

Thanks, Stepanov Ivan.

Hi Support,

Hi Support,

Thanks for your help.

So, what can I do with that flash chips? The only way - is replace it with new one? Can I restore it?

Regards, Stepanov Ivan.

Hi There,

Hi There,

If you are completely sure that is destroyed, probably yes, you might replace it. Bur first make sure that is destroyed - you might use a logic analyzer to check the SPI lines
