J-Link Driver update on DA14531 Development Kit USB

Hello,

ARM Keil IDE had asked me several times to upgrade J-Link firmware before starting a debug session. I ignored the pop-up window several times and all projects built and debugged ok. I finally allowed the firmware update suggestions and it seemed to upgrade fine (100% complete, no errors), but now when I attempt to do a program/debug session I get a "No J-Link found" error.

有办法恢复默认J-Link firmw吗are or a download and associated method to allow programming/debugging on this hardware? I don't have any external J-Link programmer/debugger to reflash anything so I suppose the USB kit is now useless?

Hi drew013182,

Hi drew013182,

Thanks for your question online. Can you please indicate the version of the JTAG after the update? Attached you will find screenshot from my ARM Keil IDE. Can you make sure that that you have the correct configurations? In the J-Link SN you should find the 9-digit number which is on your board.

  1. Click on “Options for target” button (img_1.png)
  2. Navigate to the “Debug” tab (img_2.png)
  3. Make sure that the “L-LINK / J-TRACE Cortex” option is selected. Otherwise, select it from the drop-down menu and click on “Settings” (img_3.png)
  4. You should see your J-Link SN and the ICODE (img_4.png)
  5. Press OK and try to download firmware into System-RAM. Please let me know with the results.

Thanks, PM_Dialog

I should've stated that I had

I should've stated that I had gotten to that screen from a previous help topic and found it to be empty. In addition, the VCOM port is no longer functioning. I don't know what the existing version was before the attempted update nor what version is was trying to update to.

Hi drew013182,

Hi drew013182,

Can you please try to plug the USB DK into a different COM port and directly to your PC? Are you still unable to detect it in the Device Manager?

Thanks, PM_Dialog

I plugged the USB DK into

I plugged the USB DK into another computer and it did load the VCOM port. I then plugged it back into the computer that had the Keil IDE and was able to see all the settings as shown in "Options -> Debug -> Settings". It appears as though everything is working like it was originally. Thank you for the help!
