Dear Dialog support,
we are currently facing the decision to move from Murata ZY to Inventek ISM14585 (hence DA14580->DA14585).
Pro:
- new SDK
- Eclipse support (we don't have a Keil license)
- better BT range due to integrated PA
Con:
- prior investments in Murata ZY solution (hw/sw development)
If we stay with the Murata module there are some open questions:
(1) The SDK5 is unfortunately not developed anymore by Dialog (it is sad to see such a short life cycle for the DA14580 products). Although it is not officially supported, is there a showstopper when trying to move the DA14580 project (including BT4 stack) to SDK6? Meaning: can it be done in principle?
(2) Alternatively, is it possible to port the SDK6 sensor libraries and sensor fusion to SDK5? The fusion rate of only 25Hz is not sufficient for our project. I notice that in SDK6 100Hz are possible.
Thank you,
Johannes
Hi gme_johannes,
Be aware that the SDK5 (latest version SDK5.0.4) for DA14580 product is currently supported. If you decide to move into SDK6 and DA14585, you should port your application to new SDK. Regarding your second question, the libraries are not related with the SDK.
Thanks, PM_Dialog
HI PM_Dialog,
it was my impression that SDK5 is not supported anymore, since I was told that there "are unfortunately no update to the SDK 5".

Could you tell me if using the Fusion library that is delivered with the IoT Multisensor for the "old" IoT Sensor will be possible?
Hi gme_johannes,
Apologies for the confusion. The SDK5 is currently officially supported but are not any update for the “old” 583 IoT which is based on the SDK5. My recommendation is to move into 585 Multi Sensor kit and SDK6. Regarding you question for the fusion library, it’s independent of the version of the SD, so you are able to use it.
Thanks, PM_Dialog
