DA14580 E55 1403数控AC ...vs... DA14580 01 1415NCAB

I have two PAN1740 modules. Each has a different dialog chip in it:
1. DA14580 E55 1403NCAC
2. DA14580 01 1415NCAB

I am having trouble holding a connection using the "DA14580 01 1415NCAB". What is the difference between these chips?

Hello nmirza,

Hello nmirza,

"ES5" was a pre-release engineering Silicon , so the one to work with will be a module with the 01 suffix. There will have been a final ROM clean up in the -01 plus final fix of a few known issues (nothing different in the radio , just ROM and some trimming ..) . All software on SDK3 or onwards is desgined to support 01 and is not necessarily backwards compatible with "ES".

I will check with the Panasonic team , i suspect the PAN1740 with ES5 was an early sample...

Hello BR JE_Dialog,

Hello BR JE_Dialog,

I have a question concerning the two different silicons mentioned above.

I have created both a server and client side using the sample128 profile for our target. The server (peripheral) application works great when using either one of the silicons mentioned above. However, when the target is setup as a client (central), it only works okay when operating in the ES5 suffix silicon, but not okay (can't connect) when using the 01 suffix. Both the server and client use the SDK3+ as the base software.

To be clear, both the client and server sides are using the same silicon (matched pair) when communicating with each other. Do you have any ideas as to why the client is not working when using the 01 suffix silicon?

Thanks

Hello BR JE_Dialog,

Hello BR JE_Dialog,

I was able to solve the problem with the client 01 suffix silicon not working. It turns out that an added security measure in the software was preventing the connection. Please consider this issue closed, and I am sorry for any inconvienence that this may have cause you.

问候

Hello nmirza, thanks for

Hello nmirza, thanks for feedback. Glad you solved this... we will be tidying up the sample128 profile soon also . The Panasonic team got back to me and told me that ES5 PAN1740 are early samples :

"Yes the ES5 is an early sample and the crystal is not trimmed and also no BT address written in the header"
