PCB ZOR Antenna Design

Hello Dialog,

Using the document :" AN-B-027_Designing_Printed_Antennas_for_Bluetooth_Low_Energy_2v2" I've designed my ZOR antenna for my custom board PCB.
Attached is the ZOR antenna guideline picture from the document page 20, which gives information to design the antenna for 1mm PCB thickness.

My issue is my PCB thickness is 0.8mm, so are there any changes required to made in the ZOR antenna design for 0.8mm PCB thickness.

Thank You

嗨shalakatech,

嗨shalakatech,

Well the document specifies PCB thickness of 1.6mm and 1mm and it requires a different matching circuit, so its possible to change the thickness of the PCB but most probably the inductor value will grow and the capacitor value will decrease. To have a proper matching for this kind of antenna, a network analyzer supported matching has to be done. Also checking this with our RF team for any additional mods, i will let you know as soon as i ve got an answer.

Thanks MT_dialog

嗨shalakatech,

嗨shalakatech,

Just got a reply from the hw team please check the answer below:

We have not build a ZOR on a 0.8mm board, but we are confident, that one can keep the current design and compensate the difference in PCB thickness with the matching network.

Thanks MT_dialog
