Unable to select "Make single image" in Smart Snippets Toolbox in order to enable SUOTAR

Posted bycayden@blueber…25 points 5 replies

Smart Snippets Toolbox Version: 5.0.16 (downloaded latest and fresh installed today)
OS: Ubuntu 20 Linux
SDK: 6.0.14
Board: DA14585, custom PCB
Ozone, SEGGER, and GNU Embedded ARM extras all installed and found by Smart Snippets Studio.
Context: Board flashes properly for "Do not modify" + "Bootable" settings.

Hello,

We are attempting to update our board to use over the air updates. Our application was built on top of the PROX_REPORTER example, which already had SUOTAR integrated.

The issue we are facing is that Smart Snippets Toolbox does not allow us to select the option "Make single image”. It is greyed out, as shown in the attached image. This is a required step as specified byhttp://lpccs-docs.dialog-semiconductor.com/Tutorial-BLE-SUOTA-DA145x/fl….

QUESTION: How do we enable "Make single image" so we can go forward with enabling SUOTAR on our board?

Thank you.

Hi There,

Thanks for your question and for you comments. It is strongly recommended to use the latest version of SmartSnippets Toolbox (SST) which is version 5.0.16. You will find it on the DA4585 support page under “Development Tools” section :

//www.wsdof.com/products/bluetooth-low-energy/da14585-and-da14586#tab-field_tab_content_resources

In the last attached screenshots, I can see that “bbynew @ none” is displayed on the top so this means that UART or the JTAG configuration is not selected. . When launching the SST, in the initial pop-up window, what is the configuration you have chosen ? UART/SPI. UART only, JTAG or Hybrid?

See section 8.3. Settings and Virtual COM port / JTAG selection in the user manual :

Thanks, PM_Dialog

Hello,

Yes, as discussed in the original post, we are using SST version 5.0.16.

Yes, there was a mistake in the last picture. I have attached another screen shot below with JTAG properly selected, and there is still no option to "Make single image".

QUESTION: We can successfully flash our devices with "Do not modify" + "bootable" settings, but cannot select "Make single image", it is greyed out. How to enable "Make single image"

Thank you.

Hi There,

Apologies for the delay. Unfortunately, I am not able to replicate it in Windows 10. I would suggest to uninstall it and install it again. Please see also the section 1.2 Fresh install in Linux from the user guide to follow the correct steps for the installation:
